Manny Pacquiao is moving heaven and earth to snatch Tim Bradley from the claws of Juan Manuel Marquez.
To entice Bradley, Pacquiao's camp has dangled a mouth-watering $6 million guarantee for the American puncher to agree on a rematch scheduled for Oct. 13 in at The Venetian in Macau with Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank calling the shots in partnership with Sands China.
Over the weekend, Marquez spoke to the Mexican media, declaring that he will face Bradley on Sept. 14 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas although Bradley's manager Cameron Dunkin issued a statement denying that a deal has been reached by the two parties.
Even Top Rank hasn't come up with an official statement regarding the supposed matchup between the fighters who have dealt Pacquiao defeats in his last two fights.
Koncz remains hopeful that Bradley will instead agree on a second meeting with Pacquiao since he will definitely earn much more owing to Pacquiao's immense popularity.
If Bradley is guaranteed $6 million, just imagine how much Pacquiao is getting which Koncz politely declined to comment on but sounded upbeat about the figures his boss is entitled to earn in his highly-anticipated comeback bout.
"We have offered Bradley that amount," said Koncz from Los Angeles.
Pacquiao's last fight was a stunning sixth-round knockout loss to Marquez last December and even though he will be coming off a defeat, the 34-year-old eight division champion hasn't apparently lost his luster.
Koncz said the people in Macau want him to get the job done.
"They would like to promote it the best way they could."
Koncz said that he has everything all planned out except for the choice of opponent.
"Manny will be promoting it in the US and will train in General Santos City and spend the last two weeks of training in Macau."
If a Bradley fight can't be made, Koncz said he has a solid fall-back position.
"We have other options," he said.
